What makes Levé different from other wellness & functional brands?

Levé is a wellness brand that actually works- no gimmicks, no false promises. At Levé we carefully select uncommon, potent, and high-dosed functional ingredients to deliver genuine wellness benefits. Each drink is intentionally crafted to enhance everyday rituals and help you achieve specific wellness goals, starting with our relaxation aperitivo, Levé Spritz, which harnesses the calming powers of kava. l-theanine, and rhodiola rosea.

Levé Spritz contains kava. What is kava & how does it work?

Kava, also known as Kava Kava, Kava Root, or Piper Methysticum, is a plant native to the South Pacific Islands, deeply woven into Fijian and Polynesian traditions for over 2,000 years. Traditionally, the kava plant root is ground and mixed with water. It is then shared in a ceremonial circle, emphasizing community, storytelling, and connection.

At Levé, we deeply appreciate the cultural traditions surrounding kava because—much like our own European heritage—it represents a present and intentional way of living. One that is grounded in tradition and fosters connectedness.

So how does it work?

The calming effects of kava come from natural compounds called kavalactones, which interact with receptors in your brain and nervous system to promote relaxation, reduce tension, and ease social anxiety. Unlike alcohol or THC, kava doesn’t push your body into extremes—it simply takes the edge off, helping you feel centered, calm, and connected.

There are 18 known kavalactones, but most of the experience comes from six primary ones. Depending on the variety of the kava plant, some strains feel more uplifting and better suited for daytime, while others are more sedating and ideal for nighttime rituals.

At Levé, we use the highest-quality kava from Vanuatu and nanoemulsify it to delivers a quick but gentle, feel-good calm—without the fog, fatigue, or next-day slump.

Where can I find clinical research on kava's benefits?

Here are several clinical trials published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on kava showing its effectiveness in treating a variety of stress, sleep, and other related disorders:

  1. "Neuroimaging Insights: Kava's (Piper methysticum) Effect on Dorsal Anterior Cingulate Cortex GABA in Generalized Anxiety Disorder" (2023)

How many Levé Spritz's do I need to feel a "buzz"?

Regular kava drinkers usually feel relaxed with just one Spritz. If you’re new, we recommend starting with one and waiting to see how you feel before drinking more.

Due to kava's reverse tolerance effect (see below), it may take you a few tries to experience its full relaxation benefits. Over time, you'll need fewer drinks to feel the calming effects —which is bad for us but great for you. 😉

Will kava make me feel drunk?

No! Kava promotes relaxation without impairing cognitive function or motor skills. It interacts with GABA receptors in your brain to induce calm clarity.

You may feel:
✔️ A gentle buzz and ease in social settings
✔️ Relaxed and present
✔️ A mild, pleasant tingling on the tongue (indicating kava's effects)

You won’t feel:
✘ Foggy or sluggish
✘ Out of control
✘ Hungover the next morning

Levé Spritz is the perfect alternative for unwinding without alcohol's side effects.

Levé Spritz has a reverse tolerance effect—what does that mean?

Unlike substances like caffeine or alcohol, which require increased amounts for the same effect over time, kava works differently. Initially, you may not feel much—but with continued use, you actually become more sensitive to its calming effects.

If you’re new, be patient! After several experiences with drinking kava, you'll start to experience deeper relaxation with less and less kava.

Can I drink Levé Spritz while pregnant or breastfeeding?

There’s limited research about kava’s safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding. As a precaution, always consult your doctor before consuming kava if you're pregnant or nursing.

Will Levé be using kava in their future products?

No. While our first product, Levé Spritz, aims to achieve relaxation with kava, future Levé products will explore a variety of unique and potent functional ingredients from across the world to address various wellness goals.
